So this week was pretty great! What? You may ask, “Haven’t you been trapped in the hell hole of your home town unable to escape because your car is in the care of a faded and somewhat helpless mechanic?” Why yes, dear readers, yes.
But that aside I have been pretty happy. The diet is going well-and this is a big thing for me-so I am going into my sixth week of weight loss. I feel better, the clothes are getting loose, and I am ready for the next six weeks.
But that is not all the news! I have also discovered that I had not lost as much of the book as I thought I had. So now I am only 11,—- or so words behind, I will recover that, keep writing, and also start the recovery process for the short stories. Also I booked a show as a tea leaf reader last night. It was a lot of fun and I feel there was a handful of people that I really reached.
Today started with a buzz bum bummer. Mr. Curry’s closed and canceled our lunch buffet reservation. That blows. My dad wanted to trap me in the house so he didn’t let me use his truck to make deposits and pick stuff up.
He is a madman.
But it is okay. I have a friend coming to pick me up. There will be food to be had, free shows to check out, and generally a great escape from this terrible home town of mine.
“Would you be as bitter about this place if you weren’t trapped there?” You ask.
Yes, very much so.
Please don’t think I am one of those people who grew up in a small town who dreamed of big lights and city life. My small town was riddled with drugs, dropouts, teen pregnancies and terrible things. I despise this place. If it was the town of my father’s youth it would not be bad, but it is not, despite what he wishes to believe. I want to leave because there is nothing for me here, no big wishes, no grand escape plans, just a quite pick up my things, walk out and send letters to home exit.
So other than that the snow has stopped-for now-and a ride is on its way.
So magic bless you,
The Fantastic
